When my car was nearing completion, I began thinking, what now? Where do I go to enjoy my creation with others who share my interest? The answer was simple: I should join a car club. However, when I began looking for one, I was very disappointed at what was available. On average, the better car clubs have dues or annual fees with nothing in return. What is an administration fee? Then there were the elitists, only wanting one style of car or truck. I was not welcome there (aka Vette club). Next there were the clubs with "minimum modifications" which requires modifications that I do not want or have no intention of doing to my car. It's my car, I paid for it, shouldn't I be the one to decide what modifications should be on it? Then the troublemaker crowd who just use cars as an excuse to cause grief. You can't enjoy a car from jail. That left me with the streetracers, the "everywhere is a race" mentality that gives all of us a bad image. The only thing that matters is who has the fastest car. Then they feel that they must prove it at every stoplight. Fast is great, I have no problem with speed, but there is a time and place. I don't want to be next to a Nascar wannabe, driving way beyond his level of control, his only ambition is to see how much rubber he can squeal off his tires in a single evening. Mostly showing off until he gets pulled over, or crashes. No thanks. My point, at long last, is we needed something better. Thus our mission statement: We wish to create an environment where people with an interest/obsession for cars, can get together without having to deal with the bad elements. We feel it shouldn't be about who has the fastest car, most money, or biggest ego. Instead a community with a common interest. We want to provide an environment where you can ask a question or bring a work in progress without fear or ridicule. It's not a competition. It's a lifestyle. We ride as one.
